Michael Thomas  is a photojournalist based in St. Louis, Missouri. He is a regular contributor to Getty Images, The New York Times and The Washington Post. Michael's work has appeared on major news publications in the U.S. and around the globe. His professional photography journey dates back to 2012 when he began covering sports assignments with the St. Louis Rams and Cardinals. His focus would transition to news with the fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri in 2014. Since then, he has covered major stories in the region including the Jason Stockley verdict, the 2016 Iowa Caucuses and Presidential Election to flooding devastation in 2015, 2017 and 2019. In addition to his news coverage, he also produces content for commercial clients including Walmart, Purina, Starbucks Coffee Company and Frito Lay. Michael has received Hostile Environment and First Aid Training (HEFAT) and is a professional active member of the National Association of Black Journalists, National Press Photographers Association and the DiversifyPhoto network. He is available for assignments around the country.
