Michael Thomas is a Creative Portrait and Sports photographer based in St. Louis, MO.

Michael, a 2004 graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, received his Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Corporate Video Production. Paralleling those same techniques learned in the video production arena, Michael approaches his photographic creations with a strong eye for detail and precision to produce concepts and imagery that is both fresh and unique.

In 2012, Michael inserted himself professionally into sports photography by serving as Director of Photography for Missouri Sports Magazine (Missouri Sports Redux) covering St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs and the Inaugural SEC Season of University of Missouri - Columbia Football.

Shortly thereafter in 2013, Michael was offered a stringer position with Getty Images Sport covering various assignments across Missouri. In 2014, Michael was inserted by Agence France-Presse and Getty Images News to document the civil unrest in Ferguson, MO. Michael is also a freelance contributor with the Associated Press and ZumaPress.com. His work has been published worldwide with various clients including: The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, The Guardian (UK), ESPN.com, SI.com, BleacherReport.com and The Boston Globe.

Michael is recognized as a Professional Active member of the Professional Photographers Association of America.
